- 1-2 tbsp unsalted butter

Dr Oz’s medical team has been hard at work testing the claims behind the popular drink. Bulletproof coffee is essentially a cup of black coffee with two types of fat in it. MCT oil, medium-chain triglyceride oil, which has medium-chain fats that are found in foods like coconut. They’re smaller and easier to digest.

Dr Oz thought bulletproof coffee or butter coffee was a brand new idea, but it turns out that it’s a very old idea. For centuries, people in Nepal, Singapore, and Ethiopia have been adding butter to their coffee. Now the rest of the world is finally catching up.

Dr Oz introduced Courtney and Brooke, two sisters. Courtney thinks Brooke is crazy for putting butter in her coffee. However, Brooke likes to start her day with it and claims it helps get her day going and makes her feel more clear and energized. She also believes but helped her lose weight because it keeps her fuller longer.
Courtney claims its the three kids that are making her sister run around and lose the weight, not butter. According to Dr Oz, regular coffee has 0 calories, while bulletproof coffee has 400 calories. But if you use bulletproof coffee as a meal replacement, it really can help you lose weight. The women in Dr Oz’s family actually drink bulletproof coffee and claim they don’t even feel hungry until around 4:00 in the afternoon. They keep it in a thermos and drink it throughout the day. That’s why Dr Oz agrees it can help with weight loss.

Can bulletproof coffee really work to give you energy? Dr Oz explained the difference between your brain on regular coffee and your brain on bulletproof coffee. When you drink regular coffee, you get a burst of energy quickly but it also wears off rather quickly. When you drink bulletproof coffee, the fats allow your brain to take the caffeine in slowly and make it last longer. Bulletproof coffee definitely does give you ore energy, as long as you drink it throughout the day.
Does Bulletproof Coffee Boost Brain Health?
As for the claim about bulletproof coffee helping improve brain health, Dr Oz’s medical staff really couldn’t see much of an added benefit when compared to regular coffee.
Can You Replace Butter with Heavy Cream in Bulletproof Coffee?
Dr Oz believes it’s meant to be used as a meal replacement. Also, it should be sipped all day long, not all at once. Also, Dr Oz’s wife came up with the idea to replace the butter with heavy cream for a better tasting cup of Joe.
