Jimmy Kimmel: Hop on Pop Father’s Day YouTube Challenge
Father’s Day is on Sunday, June 16. Jimmy Kimmel said that they had a plan to celebrate with a new YouTube Challenge. You don’t have to wait until Sunday to do this. What you have to do is wait until your dad is asleep, creep into his room, flip on the lights, and scream, “Hop on pop,” and pounce on him. That’s hilarious, but that seems like a dangerous idea to me.

If you do it, record it and put it up on YouTube with the title “HEY JIMMMY KIMMEL I HOPPED ON POP.” If they love it, they’ll put it on the show. Kimmel thought that would make a nice gift for your dad. I’m not so sure about that. His lawyers had him say not to jump directly on your father. That’s some sage advice. They don’t want anyone to get hurt, they just want to get a rise out of them. The first YouTube Father’s Day challenge has millions of views. It was called “Hey Jimmy Kimmel I sprayed my dad with a hose.” Kimmel played a clip. It was hilarious. He said that this year was a “Dr. Seussy name.” “Let’s make dad regret he ever fathered you this year,” he said.
Jimmy Kimmel Live: Can Michael Jordan Palm It
Kimmel asked the audience who they thought the greatest player to ever play in the NBA was. It’s Michael Jordan, obviously. Kimmel said that he’s always dreamed of having him on the show, but Jordan “has always dreamed of not being on the show.” That was hilarious and was perfectly delivered.
They managed to corner him and catch up with him on a golf course on the set of his commercial. He agreed to play “Can Michael Jordan Palm it.” Kimmel put pictures on a screen and they had to guess if Michael Jordan could palm it. The first was a honeydew melon. They all said he could. They were right!
The next one was a bowling ball. They all said yes. I wasn’t so sure. He struggled, he was so close, but he didn’t get it. Kimmel said he should have used the finger holes. The next one was a globe. I didn’t think he could do it. It was bigger than the bowling ball, but it wasn’t as slippery. The audience thought he could “palm the world.”
He was close, but he didn’t get it. “The ocean is very slippery,” Kimmel said. The last item was a frozen turkey. Everyone thought he could do it. He got it, but he dropped it. Kimmel gave him partial credit for that.

Jimmy Kimmel: Guillermo San Antonio Spurs Media Day
Before Game 1 of the NBA finals, the media converged on San Antonio to interview the teams for “Media Day.” Kimmel said that their parking lot security guard Guillermo was there. They showed a video of him. It was awkward and hilarious. He interviewed Patty Mills. He was holding up a lint roller rather than a microphone and took a selfie. He also interviewed Kawhl Leonard. He was not as into it as Mills. He wouldn’t take a selfie with him, but he did it anyway.
He also interviewed Chris Anderson. He said, “Can you get that sucker out of my face,” after he asked if he was going to get a tattoo if they win. He’s covered in tattoos. He wouldn’t take a selfie either. He said he would take a picture of him, but he took a selfie as he was handing Anderson the phone.
He also did an exclusive called “Mano A Manu” and interviewed Manu Ginobili. He asked if he has food allergies. He doesn’t. Next, he talked to Shane Battier. He asked what the last movie to make him cry was. He took a bite out of his beef jerky instead of answering. He didn’t seem to mind. Fried Green Tomatoes made him cry. Guillermo’s was Frozen.
He asked if he was an Ana or an Elsa. He’s an Elsa. They took a selfie while singing “Let It Go.” He also did a flashback of an interview with LeBron James in 2012. They just yelled at each other from across the court. He asked how he was. Last year “was even better.” He said LeBron 51 times and never got a response. “This year is going to be the best yet.” He tried to take a selfie with LeBron from the sidelines while he was playing.
He also talked with Tony Parker. He gave him a necklace that he said his grandma gave him for good luck and that she died in. He gave it to Ray Allen too. He also gave it to some other people including Chris Bosh. He had a pinwheel as his microphone that time. They took a selfie. He said, “Grandma, rest in peace” as he took the picture. That was great.
