Kelly & Michael: Kelly Ripa’s Birthday

October 2 is Kelly Ripa’s birthday! It was also her niece Maggie’s birthday. Mark Consuelos is taking her out to see Rita Wilson at the Carlisle Hotel tonight, which sounds very grown up.

Gretchen Randloph’s granddaughter was born yesterday. She’s adorable. She was due on Kelly’s birthday, but she was born yesterday. She was hoping it’d be the same day because she likes to forget about her birthday.

Joaquin drew a picture of Kelly for her birthday, but Mark thought it was a picture of Julianna Margulies. Kelly thanked her mom for giving birth to her even though she didn’t know she was in labor and Kelly just came right out.

Kelly’s horoscope said that the past 12 months were of watching and waiting and the next 12 will be for doing and achieving, because she deserves it. She supports loved ones and she needs to think positively and act maturely. It’s time to step out of her safety net to realize her dreams.

Kelly & Michael: The Judge Review

Michael Strahan went to see the movie The Judge last night. It stars Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall and he loved it. There was a lot of drama and suspense and a whole father and son element. Downey Jr.’s an incredible actor who can do drama but make it humorous. He’ll be on the show in October, which I’m very excited about. The two characters hate each other until they know the backstory. Michael also wants to see Gone Girl.

Kelly & Michael: Sense of Smell Predicts Death?

There’s a study that says that a failing sense of smell could be a warning that an early death is coming. They had people smell something and five years later they came back to find many of those who had trouble smelling it died. They smelled peppermint, fish, orange, rose and leather. Fish doesn’t sound like such an appealing smell, but the rest are pretty good.

This wasn’t really an in depth study though. Were any of these people smokers? Smoking can affect your sense of smell and obviously has a lot of health risks. This doesn’t seem like a really reliable study to me, but I’m sure they covered their bases. Who knows how real this is?
