Jimmy Kimmel: Schedule Change
Jimmy Kimmel Live was on during a different time tonight because of the NBA finals. It was a special prime time show before the finals game. It was their Game Night special. Kimmel was going to do a lot of basketball related stuff during the show. He was even going to challenge a player to a game. It was a little strange to be watching him so early, though. It just wasn’t normal.
Jimmy Kimmel Live: Spurs & Heat Rematch
Game one of the NBA finals is tonight and is between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs. Kimmel said that this is the most anticipated Spurs/Heat match-up since last year’s Spurs/Heat match-up, which was hilarious.
It’s also the first finals rematch since 1998, which, incidentally, Kimmel said is also the last time we’ve looked up from our phones. This is actually a big deal because it is a rematch and people are really excited for it. But Kimmel pointed out that next year is going to be the “threematch” if they’re matched up again. He wanted to trademark “threematch.”
Since they’re the same teams as last year, Kimmel decided he might as well use the same jokes from last year, which was hilarious. He had an excellent point. Nothing’s changed. He might as well go ahead and reuse it if it worked! In reality he only told one of his jokes from last year. The joke was, “What do you think is more likely: the Spurs winning the finals or Paula Deen being the Godmother to Kim Kardashian’s baby?” That was great, though Kim Kardahian’s baby probably has a Godmother already, but it was still really funny.
Jimmy Kimmel: NBA Finals Schedule Change
Kimmel talked about how the NBA scheduled the finals series in a new way. It’s usually games one and two in San Antonio, then three, four, and five in Miami, then six and seven in San Antonio. Now it’s one and two in San Antonio, then six and seven in San Antonio, then they’ll somehow do four, five and six in Miami. Honestly, I did not get what he was saying, but the audience seemed to think it was funny.
