Jimmy Kimmel: Fake Sports Fans
Whenever there are finals in a city, everyone is suddenly a superfan even if they don’t like the sport or know the difference between “Dwayne Wade,” and “Dwayne Wayne.” Jimmy Kimmel thought it would be fun to exploit that. They put cameras by the AT&T Center and asked supposed Spurs fans about things they made up. People could either be honest and say that they have no idea what they’re talking about, or they could pretend to know what they were talking about. Guess what these people did.

Kimmel showed a special San Antonio Spurs edition of “Lie Witness News.” They asked one man if he thought Popovich was a better coach or Tywin Lanniser. He answered even though Tywin Lanniser is from Game of Thrones. The interviewer said, “Popovich knows a lot about the game of basketball, but Twin knows a lot about the game of thrones.” It was great. The guy just kept going and didn’t bat an eye though.
The interviewer then asked a woman about the four point line. He asked two guys if V. Stiviano, Donald Sterling’s friend, will be able to penetrate the Heat’s defense. They answered he was going to be going around the court and looking for fouls. They were so serious and confident. One man was asked, “Which offensive strategy has worked for the Spurs best: delivery or Digiorno?” It was great. He asked if they were worried about Idina Menzel or if they were just going to “Let it go. Let it go. Let it go.”
He asked about the Spurs’ Fab Four, which are the Beatles. He even mentioned the Beatles’ names, but it didn’t do anything. He talked about Tubbs and Crockett from Miami Vice. He talked about the Spurs’ new defense “the erogenous zone.” The woman he was talking to was a little flustered and said, “I’m not familiar with it, I’m sorry. You must have picked the wrong person” and laughed. He said he was sorry she wasn’t familiar with it. She corrected that she was, just not with the Spurs. The audience loved that one.

Kimmel did another one with Heat fans, and apparently that one was even worse. He’s going to show it on the later show tonight.
