Dr. Oz: Anti-Allergy Diet
Dr. Oz shared his way to help you manage your allergies during allergy season that involves no pills, no shots, and no suffering this allergy season.
Dr. Oz explained that perhaps the most effective allergy remedy is right there in your kitchen. Scientists discovered that food can be one of the best medicines to combat itchy eyes, runny nose, and a scratchy throat. The way allergies work is that your body reacts by releasing a substance called histamine when allergens enter the body. It’s the histamine that triggers your symptoms. A diet rich in certain nutrients can control and block the release of histamines without any of those negative side effects you could possible get from traditional medication. He also shared that there are foods that help reduce inflammation by helping to control the swelling of the throat caused by seasonal allergies, which in turn relieves congestion.
Dr. Oz: A.C.E. Your Breakfast + Veggie Omelet

Dr. Oz shared his advice for helping get rid of allergy symptoms this season through his anti-allergy diet.
Dr. Oz shared how you can “ace” your breakfast: be sure to include vitamins A, C, and E.
He explained that those three vitamins are the ones you want to have in your breakfast. Vitamin A can be found in things like carrots and peppers, while Vitamin C is found in fruits and leafy greens. Vitamin E helps respiratory problems allowing you to breathe better during allergy season.
Dr. Oz suggested that you start your morning off with a breakfast that includes all three vitamins. He said to make a veggie omelet that includes broccoli, peppers, and asparagus. By making a veggie omelet, you can get the nutrients you need to start your morning off on the right foot and help combat allergy symptoms. He also gave an extra tip; add rosemary to your omelet to help reduce itchy eyes.
Dr. Oz: Flavanoids & Green Tea
There are ways you can help combat allergy symptoms through what you ingest at lunch as well. Dr. Oz suggested that you “flavor up your lunch with flavanoids.” Flavanoids are what makes dark fruits the way they are and protects them from the sun. Flavanoids have chemicals that have been shown to dramatically reduce the release of histamines. Fruits such as blueberries, blackberries, grapes, apples, and cherries all have the rich dark color caused by these nutrient rich flavanoids.
A lunch recipe that Dr. Oz suggested to help fight allergy symptoms is a chicken salad with red grapes and apples. He also suggested drinking green tea with your salad, explaining that green tea helps prevent the production of histamines. Green tea is also great for giving you an energy boost without too much caffeine and helping you lose weight.

For your last meal of the day, Dr. Oz suggested that you eat salmon, a fish that is rich in omega-3s. Salmon is an anti inflammatory that will help your lungs better cope with allergies. He also suggested adding ginger to your salmon because ginger is great for sinuses and allergies.
He grated ginger and added it right on top of the salmon fillet.
