The Doctors wanted to put a popular new skin-tightening system to the test. One man explained that he really wanted to reduce the appearance of wrinkles around his eyes, under-eye puffiness, and forehead wrinkles. Another woman wanted to reduce wrinkles around her mouth, eyes, and forehead. Dr Garth Fisher explained that the treatments are great non-invasive treatments for the face, to rejuvenate the face and increase collagen in the skin. There is no down time and minimal to no swelling.
Dr Drew Ordon explained that they were using radio frequency technology to stimulate collagen production to lift and tighten the face. He said he was anxious to see the results.
The Drs: Results Of Wrinkle Treatment
Later in the show, The Doctors revealed John and Tina’s results, explaining that it takes about two weeks to truly see a difference. The results seemed to me to be minimal, and you have to go once a month for three months, and continue with follow-ups. The procedure can cost up to $1,000 depending on your area, but The Doctors know it’s okay to treat yourself to an indulgence every now and then. Indulgence was the word of the day and you can use the word “indulgence” to enter for a chance to win a free Oxygenics aromatherapy shower head and a year supply of scent cartridges.
The Drs: Can Fillers Melt? + Treatments To Avoid In The Summer
Later in the show, The Doctors welcomed skin specialist Christie Kidd to their show to answer some Twitter questions. First, Lisa Shey wanted to know if she had to worry about her filler melting if she sat in the sun for too long. Christie said no, but it can be damaging to your skin. Dr Ordon said you don’t want to exercise for about 24 hours after getting a filler though, because things can move around. But after that, you’re good to go.
Next, Sheila Mayberri wondered what treatments or procedures should be avoided during the summer months. Christie said photo facials and laser hair removal should be avoided, because you need to be at your “whitest” for the laser to work at it’s best. Dr Ordon said you may want to reconsider anything that will exfoliate you harshly, because if you remove the outer layer of skin, you’re more susceptible to burning.
The Drs: Summer Skin Tips
As for how to take care of your skin in the summer, Christie said people wash too roughly, using rough sponges or rotating brushes. She said you may think you’re scrubbing it off, but you’re actually making it worse. She said to go gentle, just like you would wash a two-year-old’s face. Wash with your hands and be gentle.
If you have back acne, you don’t want to hang out in your sweaty shirts. If you’ve been using the same razor for a while, change it often or at least clean it with an old toothbrush and antimicrobial soap. Also don’t share your razor! Gentle is the key!
