GMA: Honest Kids
Wall Street Journal recently published an article about how you can encourage your children to tell the truth. The article said that children are more likely to be honest when they hear stories about positive things that happened when other people came clean about their mistakes.
The article does not encourage parents to punish children with negative consequences or tell them stories about liars, such as Pinocchio. Researchers essentially said that kids are more likely to tell the truth when they see positive outcomes.
Good Morning America: Lara Spencer at Wimbledon
Good Morning America’s Lara Spencer is having a great time at Wimbledon. She said the strawberries and cream are delicious, and 62,000 pounds of them will be consumed during the two-week tournament. Apparently, this is one of the best strawberry crops they have seen in years, making the staple even more delicious this year.
The other food staple of Wimbledon is the Pimm’s Cup. Lara Spencer said that 230,000 will be consumed before the end of Wimbledon. Many who have had Wimbledon’s Pimm’s cup say that they’re much weaker than most, and one magazine even tested the Pimm’s cup and said it had 1/3 less alcohol than the usual Pimm’s cup. However, Wimbledon is saying that the reason for that is the ice melting because the weather is so nice.
Lara Spencer also had former tennis player and Wimbledon competitor, Chrissie Evert with her at Wimbledon to talk about the “all white” controversy. Many competitors are upset that they have to wear all white during the matches, but Chrissie Evert thinks it’s appropriate, and something she had to adhere to when she played.
GMA: Dog Vs. Dog Winner
Jiff the Pomeranian was on Good Morning America to help crown the winner of the Dog Vs. Dog competition. The top dog for 2014 was Noodles. Noodles was on Good Morning America all the way from Chicago to receive his prize. The first runner up Happy Jack was supposed to be on the show also, but unfortunately his flight got cancelled. Noodles demonstrated his skills live on Good Morning America by catching rings around his neck and putting coins in a piggy bank. Good job, Noodles.
