Weirdest College Application Essay Questions + Dead Shark On NY Subway

Today Show: Weirdest College Application Essay Questions

Ivywise compiled some of the weirdest college application essay questions, and came up with some interesting results. Wake Forest University’s simply said “give us your top 10 list.” University of Virginia, “to tweet, or not to tweet?” The University of Pennsylvania’s was a little longer, asking “Ben Franklin once said ‘All mankind is divided into three classes: those that are immovable, those that are movable, and those that move.’ Which are you?”

Today: Dead Shark Turn Up In New York Subway Train

Weirdest College Application Essay Questions + Dead Shark On NY Subway

Some of the weirdest college application essay questions included listing your top 10 things.

Somehow, a dead shark turned up on an empty New York subway train Wednesday. This comes in eerily close tandem with the start of Discovery Channel’s Shark Week, so hopefully, the two aren’t related. The shark apparently was quite odorous by the time it was discovered, and is rumored to have had a cigarette in its mouth. It sounds like it might have been more of a cruel prank than anything else.

Today Show: Leonardo DiCaprio On A Fly Board

While vacationing in Spain on Wednesday, actor Leonardo DiCaprio got a charge from some futuristic-looking fly board, hovering over the waters of Ibiza. These boots basically jet water out from under them at a high velocity, allowing the user to float above the water by several feet. You can go as high as 30 feet up in these.

Today: Beyonce Rocks The Pixie Cut

Pop star Beyonce might have just set yet another trend, and a strange one at that. She recently posted an Instagram photo of herself rocking a pixie cut, which for those who don’t know, is basically a very short haircut. After wrapping the Miss Carter tour a few weeks ago, perhaps Beyonce didn’t want to risk getting her hair caught in a fan again. Good call, Miss Carter. You still look great.

Today Show: Stephen Colbert’s Viral Performance

On Tuesday, Stephen Colbert had to think on his feet when Daft Punk had to cancel on him. The electro-duo signed a contract with MTV which barred them performing until their performance on the MTV Video Music Awards, which obviously haven’t happened yet. Calling in probably every favor he’s accrued over the past year, Steve got stars such as Bryan Cranston and Michael Buble to boogie down with him.

About Daniel Hill

Daniel Hill, here. After graduating from Duquesne University in 2012 with a journalism degree, I stumbled around in the dark for a bit before finding a home at Recapo in Cincinnati. I enjoy going to the gym, writing (duh), reading, music, and a LOT of video games. Get at me, fellow nerds.
