What’s Trending Today: Hangry Definition & Blood Sugar
Scientists at Ohio State University reported that missing a meal makes people “cranky”, a fact that doesn’t come as much of a surprise to many people. It was reported that being “hangry”, a term used to describe a state of anger caused by the lack of food, can lead to problems in a relationship.
The scientists state that getting glucose into our systems can help maintain blood sugar levels and therefore result in less frequent “hangry” states. In their study, university researchers gave participants voodoo dolls representing their partners and asked them to stick pins in the dolls whenever they were upset. The result was that the hungrier the participants were, the more pins there were in their dolls.
This study seems to give all those Snickers candy bar commercials greater relevance!

Today: Motherhood World’s Toughest Job
A viral video shows people who thought they were applying for a job as Director of Operations. In the video they are shown being asked about a job that would require them to stand all day, give them no vacation time, and no salary. They are then told that “millions of people currently hold this position: moms.”
The video was part of an ad campaign for the American Greetings card company in an effort to encourage people to show a little more appreciation for moms this Mothers’ Day.
The video featured real people laughing and agreeing with the interviewer upon finding out the truth about the job description. It’s difficult to deny the tough working conditions many moms face, but still a bit shocking when brought to light.
