Today Show: Thermostat Battles
Since the beginning of time, or at least since the invention of the Thermostat, men and women have been arguing about what temperature it should be while at home, in the car and in the office. Jenna Wolfe wanted to find out why so many people are fighting over the temperature and how people have been coping with the fluctuating Thermostat for all these years.
She talked with one couple, newlyweds Farrah and Adam, who both said they have been arguing about the temperature in their house since day one. Farrah said she likes it when the house is really hot, while Adam admitted he liked to be cold. They said they try to compromise about the temperature often, but it is something they are going to have to work on.
There is one advantage, according to Adam. “It keeps the romance alive,” he said. “When it is cold, I just want to snuggle up with her.”
Today Show: Temperature Gauges Based On Gender
The Today Show talked with Dr. Nancy Snyderman about the biology between men and women and why it is so hard to come to an agreement about the temperature in a room. Well it turns out the debate is not going to be ending anytime soon. According to Dr. Snyderman, woman like the room colder because of their biology. Their core temperatures are usually higher than their male counterparts, but their hands are significantly colder.
Even the Today Show has trouble with the thermostat in the studio. Most of the men like it colder, especially Willie Geist who said he wears a wool suit to work and doesn’t mind feeling a little cold while in the studio. They even came to a compromise right on the air when they all agreed to keep the temperature a little hot before Willie arrived and then turn it down to a “temperate” temperature when he got to the set.
