Today: Schwandt Family Has 12th Boy While Trying For A Girl
One Michigan couple just wouldn’t give up on trying to have a girl. After having 11 boys, Kateri and Jay Schwandt wanted the 12th child to be a girl. However, instead of welcoming a baby girl into the world, they went home with another boy.The new bundle of joy already has 11 big brothers he will be able to look up to with:
- 21-year-old Tyler
- 17-year-old Zach
- 16-year-old Drew
- 14-year-old Brandon
- 11-year-old Tommy
- 10-year-old Vinny
- 8-year-old Calvin
- 6-year-old Gabe
- 5-year-old Wesley
- 3-year-old Charlie
- 19-month-old Luke
The Schwandt family is one to reckon with.
Today: Schwandt Family Not Likely To Have a Girl
What this means is a lot of sneakers, a lot of scraped knees, and a lot of food. Kateri, who has been trying to get a girl for over a decade, is now used to being outnumbered in her household. While they thought number 12 was going to be the one that was going to be the girl, they got further proof that Kateri’s womb is probably only ever going to churn out more boys. There’s nothing wrong with that, per se, but it seems like Kateri will have to be at peace with being the only woman in the household.
They’ve named their new baby boy Tucker, and are confident that he will fit right in with the rest of the boys. The Schwandts gave up a long time ago on a little girl showing up in their family, so there wasn’t any real disappointment when they were walking home with Tyler. Any baby is a blessing, so they aren’t upset about bringing another home. This tendency to have boys appears to run in the family, though, because Kateri’s sister has 10 boys of her own. It must be genetic.
