Today Show: Sexism in the Senate
The Today Show began their What’s Trending Today? segment by talking about prominent New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s new book Off the Sidelines, which depicts the sexism that is found on Capital Hall. One male senator told her, “Good thing you’re working out, because you wouldn’t want to get porky!” and another said “Don’t lose too much weight now. I like my girls chubby!” The latter comment came from one of her favorite senators.

Gillibrand did say it might be a generational thing. Tamron Hall said that a lot of people think she should name names since she didn’t in the book. The Senate is still a boy’s club, with 20 women of 100 men.
Today Show: Man Who Crashed His Bugatti Pleads Guilty
A man recently pleaded guilty to deliberately crashing his $1 million Bugatti. He initially said that a pelican on the road distracted him and caused him to crash into the Gulf. The problem is that he had a $2 million insurance policy taken out on the car. A viral video of the Bugatti crashing clearly shows no pelican and no brake lights as the Bugatti drove into the ocean.
Today Show: Friends Reunion?
Jimmy Kimmel surprised the world recently when he had a skit with the ladies from Friends in the set of Monica and Rachel’s (and later Monica and Chandler’s) apartment. Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, and Courteney Cox all did a silly table read of a “new” Friends written by Jimmy Kimmel. All of this was just a joke skit, though, which is why Lisa Kudrow said Joey’s catchphrase in the table read, “How you doin’?”
New York fans of the series can also rejoice because a replica of the Friends coffee shop Central Perk will be coming to the city in September. Customers can get coffee and even meet Central Perk barista Gunther.
