Princess Diana: Influence On Kate Middleton & Prince William
With Kate Middleton currently in labor, one can’t help but wonder how Princess Diana would have been as a grandmother, and many suspect that she would have done wonderfully, given the profound influence she had on Prince Harry and Prince William. Today Show: Prince William Didn’t Like Photographers As A Child
Princess Diana was very much a part of her children’s lives, and it seems that William is going to have to take cues from his late mother to figure out how he can be a good parent. From the moment Harry and William were born, she emphasized normality. She broke royal rules by having her baby at the hospital, instead of Kensington Palace, and made her children go to regular schools, as well. Prince William soon became the first future prince to go to school, the cameras of a horde of paparazzi flashing in his wake.
Even at a young age, though, the young prince never much cared for photographers. “I don’t like ‘tographers,” William would say, not yet fully capable of pronouncing the word correctly. Given that his parents’ bitter divorce was plastered all over the tabloids and his mother was killed in a car accident caused by pursuing paparazzi, that should come as no surprise. At the very least, though, William did enjoy going to school with the rest of the children.
Today: King Constantine of Greece Offers Kate Middleton Advice
Now that he and Kate are about to bring a baby into the world, there is more reason than ever for William to continue living with the powerful grace that he managed to maintain at the young age of 15, after his mother passed. The world now is quite different than the world that he and Harry were born into.
Prince William’s godfather, King Constantine of Greece, had some advice to offer Kate. He told her to give the child as much affection as she can and to give it all the opportunities that the royal life can offer her. Prince Charles also recently spoke, saying that he wanted to take a vested interest in his grandchild, taking cues from his own grandmother.
