Brand Index: American Brands with the Best Reputation
Brand Index has rated the most trusted brands in America and those with the best reputation. They spoke to 600,000 people and asked for the positives and negatives about the companies. Donny Deutsch analyzed these findings and said that this survey could leave out some of the biggest, most passionate companies. Apple was nowhere on the list, but I think that of all of these Apple has the best reputation and products. Of course, second on my list would be Amazon and their Kindle eReaders.

Today Show: Brands That Are Not Most Trusted
Along with Apple, Google and Coca-Cola also aren’t featured on the list. I think that Coke probably has too much competition from Pepsi and it’s not a healthy choice, like V8 juice. Deutsch said that we are moving away from carbonated beverages.
With Amazon, Subway, Lowe’s, YouTube and Kindle, Deutsch said they made the list for being self-control and empowerment brands. The consumer has a lot of control over how the products are used and what they make with them. People like that feeling. Deutsch speculates that Facebook didn’t make the list because it doesn’t give you a happy thought. When you think of YouTube, you think of that hilarious cat video you watched and you smile.
The History Channel didn’t surprised Deutsch. People were surveyed over the phone and they didn’t think about bad things with The History Channel. Their Bible mini-series was a huge hit and people generally enjoy history. Liking history makes you look summer.
New York Yankees Hope Week Initiative
Another brand that people get excited about, the New York Yankees. We know they are the gold standard of professional baseball, but now they are hoping to bring more than home runs to the world. One week each year, for the past five years, the Yankees sponsored Hope Week. This week tips a hat to those that give their time for what they care about and for others.
During Hope Week, the Yankees go out into the community and do good deeds. They work with animals, help at community centers, visit with Hurricane Sandy victims, and acknowledge those that do this year round. They want to bring attention to the hometown heroes in the community.
Thursday’s celebration was about birthdays. Homeless youths visited Yankees stadium and they got to have a big birthday party with the Yankees. Birthday Wishes sponsors birthday parties for kids living in shelters. The kids said it means a lot and the Yankees players feel that the smiles of the kids carry them on.
