Today Show: Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Married
It’s official! Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are married. The superstar couple wed in France over the weekend after having been together for more than nine years after they met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2004. They were engaged in 2012 and have six children together. It’s Brad’s second marriage and Angelina’s third.
Willie Geist said he felt as if the couple has been married for a decade now, so it feels more like a formality. Tamron said Brad Pitt explained in an interview a little while ago that their kids wanted them to get married, and that’s why they wanted to do it. Congratulations to them!
Today Show: Ariana Grande Surprises Fans

Ariana Grande will be on the Today Show Friday, August 29. Willie shared that the singer just won a moonman for best video and her new album My Everything is already number one in over 80 countries. They showed a clip from earlier in the show when two sets of fans were asked to sing “Problem” by Ariana Grande in preparation for her Friday concert. What they didn’t know was that Ariana Grande herself was going to walk out and surprise them!
Each of the fans got VIP passes to her concert on the plaza. Willie told everyone to get there early for the concert because people are already lining up for it.
Today: Tropical Storm Marie Causing Huge Waves
Al Roker then moved on to talk about the storm that are causing dangerous surf and rip currents on the coasts. There are currently two storms off each coast causing problems.
Tropical storm Marie has created waves of 25 feet or more on the west coast. He explained that we haven’t seen anything like this for 20 years. Two people have been killed on the West Coast due to the storms.
Today Show: Hurricane Cristobal & Red Flag Warnings
On the East Coast, there’s Hurricane Cristobal that is moving away, but there are rip current warnings all the way up to New England and there have been two people killed on that coast as well. He explained that there have been red flag warnings put out and said if there is a red flag warning or if there is no lifeguard, do not go out into the water. “Do not risk it,” Al Roker said. “It is really, really dangerous out there.”
Willie reported that one beach in California made 130 saves in two days, that’s the conditions out there.
Today: “This Is Exasperating!” Boy Doesn’t Want To Be A Big Brother Again
There’s a video going around of a little boy who wasn’t too happy about his mom having a new baby once again.
In the video, she told her son she was pregnant and he threw his hands up in the air, covered his face and then said “What were you thinking?”
He didn’t understand why his mom was having another baby when she already had two. “This is exasperating,” the little boy said.
He wondered why his mom wanted to have another baby and replace one of the babies she already had. He said it was “too much!” The mom explained that she would never replace them and he’s just going to have another brother or sister that he has to help take care of. He responded with “that doesn’t make no sense!”
Thank goodness the mom decided to videotape the conversation! They said they just had to get the little boy, named Trey, on the show. They were begging mom to bring the kids down and come chat with them.
Today Show: Tamron Hall US Weekly “Who Wore It Best”
Tamron Hall made an appearance in US Weekly‘s “Who Wore It Best” after wearing the same dress as Mel B, Princess Beatrice, Rita Ora, and Marisa Tomei. According to the poll, Mel B wore it best with 44%, Rita Ora came in second with 28%, then Princess Beatrice with 12%, and then finally Tamron Hall in fourth with 12%. At least she wasn’t in last place! That honor went to Marisa Tomei with 4% of the vote.
Tamron said even her own family said they had to give it to Mel B, and Tamron said it was because of the way her body looked in the dress. She said she’s willing to admit when she’s been defeated and said “Mel B, you brought it.”
