Today: Taye Diggs Murder In The First

Actor Taye Diggs came by the Today Show to talk about the new show Murder In The First. It’s a crime show whose first season has one case. There’s ten episodes and it’s a crime that’s solved in that duration. Taye Diggs said this is one of the reasons it drew him to the project. “It gives audience members to invest more, as well as the actors, as far as the characters are concerned,” he said.

Taye Diggs said that Steven Bochco’s name is another reason he did this show. Steven Bochco is a legend in television, having helped bring to life iconic shows like NYPD Blue, Doogie Howser, M.D., and LA Law. “I’ve been lucky. I’ve been able to work with some really big names and he’s one I can add to my list. He’s amazing,” he said.

Today: Taye Diggs Police Research

Taye Diggs said he did some research to get into the mind of a real detective and police officer. He ate with some of the San Francisco officers, where the show takes place, and he was blown away by some of their stories and how they could have lives and families and relationships.

Today Show: Taye Diggs Twitter Following

In April, Taye Diggs was following 44 people on Twitter. Now, he’s following over 45,000 people. Taye Diggs said he was embarrassed. So he met with someone who deals with social networking, who told him to not focus on giving information. Instead, he told him to use it as a ticker. So Taye Diggs started following a bunch of people, from athletes to politicians. He started following people for Taye Diggs. Now, whenever he wants, he can look at his phone and hear what’s going on with all these people.

Matt Lauer showed Taye Diggs a couch filled with people he’s following, including some of the anchors and a bunch of people I didn’t recognize. Taye Diggs told Matt he thought he was interesting and wondered if he thought that. Matt said he’s tweeted about 478 times in about three years. The coach of Twitter people booed him and Savannah told him he should tweet more.

Matt wondered if Taye Diggs could hit 50,000 in the next couple of weeks. He said he’s not trying to do that, just to keep himself stimulated.

Murder In The First premieres June 9 on TNT.
