Zachary Quinto: Star Trek: Into Darkness Preview
In 2009, J.J. Abrams rebooted one of the most beloved science fiction series ever with the movie Star Trek. Four years onward, they are preparing for the release of its sequel, Star Trek: Into Darkness. To prep the public for this event, Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock in the movies, came on the show to talk about it. Being very coy about the details of the movie so as to maintain the surprise for us all when it comes out, Zachary could say very little about the move besides the fact that he’s excited for the movie to come out so he doesn’t have to keep it all a secret anymore.
The first Star Trek movie that came out in 2009 grossed $385 million worldwide, and the question of course arose as to what kind of added pressure was put on the Zachary to live up to the first flick. Despite the pressure, Zachary doesn’t really feel too much stress. The new movie, being bigger, bolder, and more exciting to make, will just naturally be better than its predecessor, he feels. Naturally, the question had to be asked about how Uhura is doing, since the beautiful Zoe Saldana took the role for the J.J. Abrams rendition of the character in 2009.
If you’re as excited as I am, check out the trailer.
Today Show: The Metropolitan Museum Of Art Gala
Called “the red carpet” of fashion by some, The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Gala took on a punk theme this year that yielded some interesting results. Stars such as Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, and Madonna sported everything from metal to spikes for the event. Sarah Jessica Parker even came to the event sporting a mohawk. While some stars didn’t quite get the full grasp on punk, going with more traditional looks, stars like Madonna totally knew what was going on, wearing no pants at all to the event.
