Today Show: Nik Wallenda Walking Across Grand Canyon
You would think walking across Niagara Falls would be a big enough accomplishment for Nik Wallenda, but he has his sights set on the Grand Canyon for his next “performance.” He is going to be performing a walk across the Grand Canyon which will be the longest, farthest and highest up anyone has ever gone when walking across the Grand Canyon on a tightrope. Wallenda told the Today Show he has wanted to walk across the Grand Canyon since he was a young boy. As for the spot he chose, Wallenda said he had to pick the perfect spot that wouldn’t take him too long to get across (there isn’t enough air time on TV to watch him walk for over an hour), he had to find a good height and he had to find a location with great visuals. In the end, he found a spot that is about 1,500 from the ground and about 1,500 feet across from one edge to the other edge.

The Today Show talked with Nik Wallenda about his decision to walk across the Grand Canyon on a tightrope without any harness.
Wallenda is going to be performing this stunt without any type of safety harness or net, unlike when he crossed Niagara Falls. He even seems eager to look straight down when he is over the canyon, something he missed out on doing when crossing the Falls because of the harness.
He is going to be training a lot of this performance. With the amount of wind in the canyon and the very pressures he could face, Wallenda said he is training at a hurricane reenactment center that will have the same forces of wind he will encounter when walking across the Grand Canyon. Even with the Grand Canyon walk coming up June 23, Wallenda is still thinking about his next adventure. He said he wants to walk from one continent to the other.
Today Show: The Biggest Loser Season Finale Predictions
The Biggest Loser host Alison Sweeney stopped by the Today Show to give her predictions for the season finale which airs March 18 2013.
For Danni, Sweeney said she has been on her own since the beginning but she stuck with the workouts and she worked really hard to make it into the final three. Danni knows what it is like to be up against the odds. For Jeff, Sweeney said he has a fair shot at winning. He is young, athletic and he still has a lot of weight to lose.
As for the final two contestants, the show has received over a million votes on who America wants to be in the finale. Joe is the former athlete who is in better shape than he has ever been in and is up against Jackson, the first openly gay contestant on the show who struggled earlier in the game but has since become a fan favorite. Sweeney said it is anyone’s game right now, pointing out all the contestants were within five percent body fat of each other when they left the ranch.
