Today Show: Daniel Silva The English Girl Review
Author Daniel Silva just released a new thriller, The English Girl, a story about an investigator that has only seven days to find a kidnapped rising British star. Amazon called the book the best book of the month, and though Daniel said that he tries not to pay too much attention to critics, he was very flattered because of the review. He thought it hit on all the parts of the book that he liked the most.
The English Girl starts with a beautiful island and a beautiful girl that disappears on it. Madelyn Hart is a rising star in the British parliament, but has a dirty little secret: an ongoing affair with the British Prime Minister. Not knowing if Madelyn’s disappearance may lead to the revealing of their affair together, he goes into a panicked state. The clock is ticking to find her.
Today: The English Girl Inspired By Real-Life Events
At one point, the plot even takes the protagonist to Russia, something that Daniel Silva said was actually inspired by some actual news events. According to Daniel, that particular plot device was inspired by the revelation that, two years ago, we had a nest of Russian spies hunkered down in New York City. They were living here under false identities, and the news shook to public. Who knew that Russia was still spying?
Today: Daniel Silva’s Christopher Keller
Daniel Silva has a very loyal following on social media, and, unlike critics, listens very closely to what the fans ask of him. This time, the fans were asking Daniel to bring back a character he wrote in a book about 10 years ago—British commando turned assassin, Christopher Keller—and he brought him back, pairing him with The English Girl‘s protagonist.
