Today Show: Paula Patton’s Topless Scene In 2 Guns

Robin Thicke put on a star performance yesterday, and his wife, Paula Patton, put on her own great performance alongside Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg in the movie 2 Guns. To take on her role as a DEA agent, Paula had to take on an air of toughness, but with a feminine spin. To make that happen, Paula made sure to bring a level of femininity to even her most tough scenes.

One scene where Paula Patton had to let the physical aspects of her feminine side show was during a steamy bedroom scene with Denzel Washington. Though the scene itself wasn’t her idea, it was Paula that suggested she be topless for it. She just didn’t feel right having a bedroom scene with her bra on, and so, with the blessing of her husband, she went ahead and did the scene topless. As you can probably guess, Paula didn’t hear too many arguments coming from Denzel or the director. Paula had a heck of a good time holding it back from her mother right up until the premiere.

With Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” music video making waves for being quite racy, Savannah wondered if Paula did the topless scene to get back at Robin for the video. It turns out that, actually, her topless scene was shot before Robin’s music video, so perhaps this revenge plot worked out the other way around. When it came down to it, Paula didn’t even understand the controversy behind the “Blurred Lines” music video and found violence to be a whole lot more vulgar than nudity is.

Paula Patton has a son with Robin Thicke, three-year-old Julian Fuego. It looks like Julian may be learning a thing or two from his father, because at the sound check for Robin’s Taste of Chicago performance, the little guy got right up on stage and starting belting out a few tunes with the band.
