Janine Stange came by the Today Show to discuss her mission of singing the National Anthem in all 50 states. Janine Stange has sang the song so many times she can do it in her sleep. “You can call me at two o’clock in the morning and I will sing it to you without any problem, I promise,” she said.

She’s sung at Madison Square Garden and in Wallace, Idaho. She sang in Florida and in Alaska. So far, she’s sung in 49 different states. Janine Stange said she loves the military and she’s a big supporter of the meaning behind the National Anthem. Instead of autographing things at her performances, she asks her audience to give her an autograph.
Today Show: Janine Stange Performance
On August 28, 2014, she’ll sing in her final state, Tennessee. But there’s one more stop on her journey: Fort McHenry in Baltimore, the place where two hundred years ago Francis Scott Key wrote the words we all know by heart.
“It’s the only song, where for 90 seconds, no matter who you voted for, no matter what team you want to win, no matter what’s going on, where we are all as one. And I think there’s power in that moment. We are one nation. We have one song. And this is our song,” she said.
Today Show: Ariana Grande Surprise Appearance
The Today Show asked two pairs of Ariana Grande superfans to compete in a competition to see who would get VIP tickets to her performance on the Today Show on August 29, 2014. Two friends competed against a mother and daughter pair. Their mission? Sing Ariana Grande’s “Problem” and the Today co-hosts would decide who the best singer was.
The co-hosts couldn’t decide, so they asked them each to sing one more line from the song. That’s when Ariana Grande came out to deliver the VIP tickets to both pairs in person, surprising her fans by singing along with them. The fans were shocked and in tears and unable to answer her when she asked them who wanted some VIP tickets. But they’ll probably get plenty of chances to talk to her at the show.
