Spring break isn’t just for college kids anymore. Adults want to go on spring break as well but most of them do not want to be where the kids are at. They want to be away from the drinking and the foam parties and a bit closer to peace and quiet. Kate Maxwell, Editor in Chief of Jetsetter.com, said it is possible to get away from the usual spring break crowd and spend your time at a more adult-friendly vacation if you know where you need to stay.
Tulum, Mexico – Papaya Playa Resort Review
Maxwell said the best place to go if you are looking for something tropical is Tulum, Mexico. She said it is away from the college crowd in an area of Mexico she referred to as “rustic, charming and unspoiled.” She said the best resort in the town is Papaya Playa Resort, where outdoor showers are the norm and nothing is more peaceful than a day on the beach. And for only $115 a night, how can you beat the price?
Park City Utah – Silverado Lodge At Canyons Review
For people who like skiing and snowboarding, the end of the skiing season is almost up which means the prices at ski resorts are dropping fast. Maxwell said her favorite resort in Park City, Utah is Silverado Lodge at Canyons. It is located just far enough from the bustle of the village but also close enough to walk into town. With skiing season ending this April 14, Maxwell said it is best to book a room now, which starts around $132 a night.
Nantucket, Massachusetts – Chapman House Review
Taking advantage of Nantucket in the spring is the best way to have a good time without spending too much money or having to deal with a large crowd of people. Maxwell suggested staying at the Chapman House, located just steps from the center of town. She said all the shops might not be open, but you will still have a great time relaxing. Rooms cost around $169 a night.
Portland, Oregon – The Nines Review
Maxwell said she visited Portland for the first time last year and she fell in love. The weather is beautiful this time of the year, there is great vintage shopping and lots of friendly people. Maxwell said this is perfect for the person who wants to see something new but still stay in the city. She suggested staying at The Nines, with rooms starting at $189 a night.
Savannah, Georgia – Andaz Savannah Review
Savannah, Georgia is another great spring break destination for adults. Maxwell said her favorite place to stay is in the Andaz Savannah, a hotel in the historic downtown area of the city. At only $199 a night, Maxwell said it is a steal because of the amount of things to do.
