Kathie Lee & Hoda: Melissa McCarthy Hosts Saturday Night Live
Kathie Lee and Hoda said they got in some good laughs this weekend when they watched Melissa McCarthy host Saturday Night Live for the second time. In one of her skits she played a contestant on The Voice who couldn’t sing at all and lived in a hole, or as she called it “a basement without a roof.”
Although Hoda loved The Voice skit, Kathie Lee said her favorite skit from SNL was when McCarthy did a skit as the female version of Rutgers coach Mike Rice who was fired for his unorthodox coaching. That skit was pretty funny too. McCarthy was throwing bricks at her players and even drove a golf cart onto the court when they wouldn’t listen to her.
Kathie Lee thought the skit was funny but she said she also felt bad for the players at Rutgers because of what they had to go through while on the team with this coach. She said her husband, Frank, played college sports and he said the coaches would never put a hand on you back then. You knew what you had to do and if you didn’t do it you would be screamed at, but no one ever hit him.
KLG & Hoda: Luke Bryan Entertainer Of the Year At ACM Awards
The Academy of Country Music Awards were Sunday and Hoda’s favorite person was co-hosting along with Luke Bryan. Both Kathie Lee and Hoda were surprised Taylor Swift did not win any awards, but they were not surprised Miranda Lambert won a lot. Luke Bryan was the biggest surprise of the night though. He won the Entertainer of the Year Award causing him to simply break down on stage because he was so excited and overwhelmed.
