Kathie Lee & Hoda: Usher Curates Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks

Usher is the curator of the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, airing on Independence Day on NBC. Instead of holidaying in the French Riviera, Usher spent his time off working to bring art and music to life in the sky. It should be an event you won’t want to miss.
Usher: Curating Music for Macy’s Fireworks
Usher pointed out that in 37 years, Macy’s has never had anyone else curate their fireworks. Being a guest curator involved creating “artistic images in the sky,” and bringing together music, art, and culture. In making his selections, Usher thought about ways to mix youth culture with the music from older generations. He will be using music of his own, as well as orchestral music, and songs from artists like Frank Sinatra, Jay-Z and Jimi Hendrix.
Usher: The Voice Season 6 Return
Usher recently wrapped up his judging appearance on this season’s installment of The Voice. His contestant, Michelle Chamuel, didn’t win, but Usher says he sees “major things” for Michelle in the future. He hopes to return to the judge’s chair for The Voice season 6.
In the meantime, you can catch the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular on Independence Day, July 4, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
