Today Show: People Lost Half Their Size
The Today Show invited three women who appeared in People Magazine to share their Weight Loss Success Stories.
Meet Wendy, a teacher from Washington who lost over 300 pounds and now weighs 147 pounds. It took her 5 years to do lose the weight and used Weight Watchers along with Roomba. She was always in pain and had back aches, but now feels great!
Next was Yolanda, a teacher from Texas who dropped 146 lbs and now weighs 146 pounds. Like Wendy, it took Yolanda 5 years to lose the weight and she also used Weight Watchers. She used to be in a sorority but never felt confident, as she knew she was the largest girl in the group. Now she’s more comfortable and went from not exercising to having to get to the gym four times a week.
Last but not least, Karen from Colorado lost 72 pounds and now weighs 122 pounds. It took 6 months to lose the pounds, simply by limiting calories and taking three half-hour walks three times a week. As she got used to the walks, she increased the intensity and added workout routines. Her advice: keep physically active or to start getting active and make that initial move – it will get easier once you take that first plunge.
Today Show: Ambush Makeover
Two lucky women in the outdoor audience were surprised with Fashion Makeovers on the set of The Today Show with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.
Wendy from San Diego was first up. Her two daughters wanted her mom to get a makeover because she was there to raise five children and deals with 40 kids in her class at school on a daily basis. The new Melinda walked onto the set and was transformed, with a few layers added to her hair for more volume, which was also made darker. Her grey dress with black leggings and heels looked great as well, and her children were in shock!
Next, Mary West from Florida is also a teacher. She was in New York City with a few of her closest girlfriends and was excited about the chance to get a makeover, as she currently doesn’t have a beauty routine of any kind. The new Mary West also received a darker hair color with hair coloring that could be replicated at home for those on a budget. The hairstyle could also be curled or straightened and her face was softened with makeup. She wore a purple dress with knee-high black boots that left her friends in awe!
