In 2002, Nia Vardalos stole our hearts in her breakout movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. The independent film went on to be one of the highest-grossing independent movies of all-time and earned Vardalos an Academy Award nomination. The movie is about a young Greek woman who falls in love with a non-Greek and struggles to get her family to accept him while she comes to terms with her heritage and cultural identity.
Nia Vardalos: An American Girl Review
In her latest role, Nia Vardalos stars in the movie, An American Girl: NcKenna Shoots For The Stars. Vardalos is a real-life Mom playing the Mom of a gymnast daughter. Vardalos said good things happen to the daughter. Kathie Lee Gifford said it is a sweet movie and it’s a family movie and the little girl is going to learn something. Vardalos said she did the movie because she wanted to be a hero to her 7-year-old daughter. Nia was scared for the girls when they were doing all the gymnastics. Ian Ziering, known for starring on Beverly Hills, 90210, stars as the father with Vardalos in the movie.

An American Girl: McKenna Shoots For The Stars is based on the American Girl series, which is a company that has a passion for who girls are today and who they can become tomorrow. They have an assortment of products, ranging from dolls to clothes to books and is a big hit among younger girls.
