Something From Nothing: Ice-T Directorial Debut
Ice-T will be making his directorial debut on June 15 2012, when his new movie called Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap hits theaters.
It is a documentary on the business of rap music. Reviews are good, as fans are saying it is dope. Ice-T said they promoted the movie backwards when they let critics see it first. While they have been promoting it, they have not had one negative review.
Ice-T took the movie to Sundance and it was bought on the first day. He only interviewed his friends and people he knew, but Eminem opened up and told him good stuff people need to hear.
Ice-T: Rap Crosses Over To Mainstream

Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb sit down with Ice-T to discuss his new film, Something From Nothing: The Art Of Rap, and his relationship with wife Coco.
Ice-T tells Kathie Lee and Hoda that rap has crossed over to the mainstream. He says that 25 years ago when rap started to hit, people said it was a fad.
Now we look at it and it is a global thing. Ice-T says while he was making the movie, he was sitting back and watching the weatherman rap.
Ice-T: Rap Music Is Not Offensive
When asked if rap music and the lyrics offends him as a father now, Ice-T says rap music is art and sometimes art is offensive. Rap music is for the person who appreciates it and it may be hard for you, but not hard enough for other people.
He says that rap music has had a positive influence on culture…it has brought the races together. Ice-T goes on to say that if it wasn’t for rap music, white people wouldn’t have been so open to vote for Barack Obama. Hip-hop took down a lot of those boundaries.
Ice-T: Reality TV With His Wife, Coco
On June 12 2011, the new reality TV show starring Ice-T and his wife, Coco, debuted on E! It has been a hit, as Season 2 debuted on February 19 2012.
Kathie Lee and Hoda ask him if Coco has read Fifty Shades of Grey, the best-selling trilogy, but Ice-T says the last thing they need to read in his house is Fifty Shades of Grey. They have fifty shades of blue, red, green, black and grey.
