Wendy Williams July 18 2013
On Wendy Williams, it’s the Wendy Williams birthday bash. It’s Wendy’s 49th birthday, and she has invited on soap opera icon and Devious Maids star Susan Lucci to chat about her new show.
Then, the host of Top Chef Masters, Curtis Stone, will be coming on the show to whip up a birthday treat for Wendy! I hope he shares the recipe with us. Since he’ll already be talking about the new season of his Bravo reality show, I’m sure he’ll already be in a sharing kind of mood, anyways.
Here is what’s happening on Wendy Williams July 18 2013.
Wendy Williams: Susan Lucci Devious Maids
Susan Lucci made a name for herself starring on ABC’s All My Children for the show’s astounding 41-year run from 1970 to 2011 playing as Erica Kane, widely hailed as the most popular soap opera star of all time and making it onto TV Guide‘s “60 Nastiest Villains Of All Time” list this year.
If that doesn’t put things in perspective for you as to her popularity, listen to this: in 1986, during the height of the show’s popularity, the Associated Press ran a study that showed 100 students at California State University, Fullerton could recognize Susan Lucci, but not historical figures such as Alexander Hamilton. Wow!
Wendy Williams 49th Birthday
I’m sure Wendy won’t want anyone telling her that, in only one year, she will be half a century old. What pop culture diva wants to hear that? I’ve got to give her props, though—coming into work on your dang birthday shows quite a bit of commitment to daytime talk television. I mean, I guess it makes more sense that she’s a talk show host now. Happy birthday, Wendy!
