Wendy Williams: Larenz Tate
Wendy Williams mentioned her favorite Larenz Tate movie, Dead Presidents, before introducing a clip from his new USA series Rush, in which his character is saddled with a patient.
Tate received a warm reception from Wendy’s audience, and said he could not believe the energy in the room. Wendy said that Larenz smelled great, and added that no one is fully dressed without a spritz.
Wendy Show: Larenz Tate Age
Wendy pointed out that Larenz Tate has been in movies and TV for many years, but even though he is 38, he still looks like he is in his early 20s. He did not have any secrets to share, so it must just be good genes. But he said he has no plans to ever age.
He was spotted at the BET Awards with his wife, whom he called the love of his life. He and wife Thomasina have three sons together. He said he likes to go out, and Wendy credited him for never making headlines with bad behavior.
“You’ve just got to keep it in the realm of decency and good taste,” he said.
Wendy Williams: Larenz Tate Rush Review
Wendy Williams also suggested that Tate should replace Columbus Short on the hit ABC drama Scandal. Tate appreciated the suggestion and the fan buzz, which Wendy took full credit for. Tate called the Short situation “unfortunate,” adding that he is happy with his gig on Rush.
Tom Ellis stars as the title character. Rush is a medical fixer, a private doctor who handles Hollywood stars and A-listers who don’t want their business on TMZ. He only takes cash, though. Wendy said this is a real thing, and Tate added some of the stories are loosely based on true stories.
Rush himself is a partier. Tate’s character is Rush’s best friend and right hand man, who is a polar opposite, who has a wife and family but may be getting sucked into Rush’s antics. Wendy predicted big things for the series.
Rush premieres Thursday, July 17 on USA Network.
