The Voice: Where Are They Now?
So far, three seasons of The Voice have come and gone. What has happened to the winners since the show? Here is a status update on The Voice winners from seasons one through three, as a fourth edition of the show is set to begin. Let’s check in with Javier Colon, Jermaine Paul, and Cassadee Pope.
The Voice Season 1 Winner: Javier Colon
Javier Colon won the first season of The Voice in 2011. His awards included a $100,000 cash prize and a Universal Republic Records recording contract.
His 2011 album Come Through For You featured Natasha Bedingfield and Colon’s coach from The Voice, Adam Levine.
A year later, in June 2012, Colon announced that he was no longer working with Universal and would be pursuing a future album on his own terms.
The Voice Season 2 Winner: Jermaine Paul
Music has been a part of Jermaine Paul’s life since he was a small child. He parlayed his gospel roots into a quartet group before going solo. Prior to his time on The Voice, Jermaine Paul did backup vocals for stars including Alicia Keys and Joss Stone.
Since winning the spring 2012 season of The Voice, Paul has been at work on his full-length album, tentatively titled Finally, which is scheduled to be released in 2013.
The Voice Season 3 Winner: Cassadee Pope
Cassadee Pope is a name that is probably fresh in the minds of fans and viewers of The Voice. She was just chosen as the season 3 winner at the end of 2012. The 23-year-old singer was a member of Blake Shelton’s team, giving Team Blake a second consecutive win, for seasons two and three.
Pope has signed with the country label Republic Nashville and is getting to work on a studio album, which could drop before the end of 2013.
Who Will Win The Voice Season 4?
With new coaches and new contestants coming onboard the show in its fourth season, a few challenges present themselves. Can Shakira, Usher, or Adam Levine unseat Team Blake and shepherd a winner through the contest?
This fourth edition of The Voice will be the show’s third season in a year and a half. Will viewers keep coming back for more, even though the seasons are airing so close together?
The Voice Vs American Idol Winners
Finally, can the show produce a viable star? American Idol has been stumbling in recent years with its winners, but the show’s achievements include launching the careers of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, among others.
