The Voice: Meet The Coaches
A new season of The Voice is about to begin, with changes to the team leaders and new coaches for the first time since the US version of the singing competition debuted in 2011. Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera are taking a break this time around, and filling in for them will be Shakira and Usher.
The Voice Coach Adam Levine
Singer and actor Adam Levine is best known as the frontman for Maroon 5. Though the band was commercially successful before Levine’s appearance on the show, their profile is much higher due to his exposure.

Levine has also appeared in American Horror Story: Asylum and as a host on Saturday Night Live. The spring 2013 cycle will be his fourth season on The Voice. A contestant from Team Adam won the show’s first season in 2011.
The Voice Coach Blake Shelton
Country star Blake Shelton is married to Miranda Lambert. Over the past decade, he has seen great success with a string of country albums.
His eighth studio album, Based On A True Story…, was released March 26 2013, timed to The Voice’s fourth season premiere. Shelton’s contestants have finished in first place for the past two seasons.
The Voice Coach Shakira
Shakira is the Colombian voice behind songs such as “Hips Don’t Lie” and “Whenever, Wherever.” The worldwide sensation has a huge following in Spanish-speaking countries especially, and now she will be bringing her fan base along with her as a coach on The Voice season 4.
But Shakira is not the only new face coming to the show this time around.
The Voice Coach Usher
Usher is the R&B star behind seven studio albums since his 1994 debut. He has kept busy as a musician and actor over the years. His most recent release, Looking 4 Myself, dropped in the summer of 2012.
Usher has his own record label, to which international superstar Justin Bieber is signed. Now Usher is bringing his musical background and business savvy to the coaches’ chairs on the fourth season of The Voice.
The Voice Coach Christina Aguilera
Christina Aguilera exploded on the pop music scene at the end of the ‘90s, taking a different approach than the bubblegum of contemporaries like Britney Spears. She has endured on the charts over the years and even become a mother.
Aguilera is taking a break from The Voice season 4, but will return to her post for the competition’s fifth season.
The Voice Coach Cee Lo Green
You probably first heard Cee Lo Green as part of the duo Gnarls Barkley, whose song “Crazy” was a worldwide hit.
Since then, he has released multiple albums, with another new release slated for 2013. He is currently appearing in Cee Lo Green Presents Loberace at the Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas.
Green, like Aguilera, is sitting out the fourth season of The Voice to spend some time on these other projects, but will return to the show in the future.

I will miss Christine Agulera and Cee Loo Green. Both have been with the Voice since it started. I do not like the change in coaches. Hope Christine and Cee Loo return next year. They are the reason I watch the Voice.
