Nine years after winning American Idol, Fantasia is still rolling with the punches. Her finances and her relationships have been tumultuous at times.
Now she is putting out a fourth studio album, Side Effects Of You, and the ladies wanted to know how she got back in control of her life.
She reached a point where she wanted to escape from the pressures and responsibilities of her life. “Being so young, winning American Idol at 19, nobody really preps you. It just all goes so fast,” she said.

Fantasia refocused on the simple things and appreciated everything that she had in her life. She said she had to stop trying to take care of everyone around her and focus on pursuing her passions.
She said it was difficult dealing with all of her obligations after shooting to fame at a young age. Her new song “Lose To Win” tells the story of her journey, and now she is focused on finding peace.
