The View: Gina Brillon On Growing Up In The Bronx
Comedian, actress, and writer Gina Brillon swung by the show to talk a little about herself. She’s from The Bronx, which she has a lot of fun telling people because of their reactions. After she told one woman in London that she is from The Bronx, the woman replied with a heartfelt “I’m sorry!” She did say, though, that any woman who wants to boost her self esteem should go to The Bronx, because the men there will cat call just about any woman that happens to walk by.
The View: Gina Brillon On Accents
Gina is of Puerto Rican descent, and grew up in a neighborhood in The Bronx around a lot of girls that had that very thick Rosie Perez-type of accent. Despite growing up around it, Gina never got the accent, which she initially lamented about, but then, upon further reflection, that the accent doesn’t exactly make one sound smart, and shudders to think how hard it must be to be taken seriously in the professional world when you have the accent.
The View: Gina Brillon Boyfriend
Gina is dating a Mexican man now, which she knew she was going to end up doing because she loves tacos, an obvious connection. She remembered when she first met him, she thought that the 6’1 man was the tallest Mexican that she had ever met, and wondered if maybe he was just made up of several smaller Mexican men.
Speaking of tacos and food, Gina said that she is the worst dieter, which she thinks partially comes from her self-described delusional line of thought that leads her to believe that she doesn’t need to lose any weight.
