The View: Thanksgiving 2012
The View co-hosts reunited for a post-Thanksgiving show. They recounted what they did for Thanksgiving, sharing knife rests reviews, a Joy Behar Stuffed Chicken Recipe and weighing in on the Chris Brown Jenny Johnson Twitter Feud.
Sherri Shepherd showed a picture of one of the three turkeys her husband fried for Thanksgiving. Sherri’s contributions were catered and included collard greens, macaroni and cheese, and smothered chicken, prepared by Chef Wylie.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck showed off a photo of the turkey in her oven. She said it had to cook for about six hours, and it was still done before she was ready. Oh man…I do have something in common with Elisabeth. Neither of us can get timing right in the kitchen.
The View: Joy Behar Stuffed Chicken Recipe
Joy Behar said her grandson has a shorter attention span than she does. She said she “gave thanks for Spanx” over the holiday. Later in the weekend, she made a Stuffed Chicken recipe with mozzarella. Here’s how she said to make it.
“Onions sauteed with the sausage. Oregano. Put bread that you soak in milk. Mix it all together. Put chunks of mozzarella and stuff that chicken! And then cook it for an hour and 10 minutes, a little olive oil on the chicken.”
The View: Whoopi Goldberg Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade
Whoopi Goldberg was in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She was on a float and had trouble waving to crowds on both sides of her. I wonder if she wore Crocs with her outfit. She said that it got cold in the shade at some point during her three-hour ride on a pirate-themed float.
The View: Knife Rests Reviews
Later in the day, Whoopi cooked Thanksgiving dinner. She showed pictures of her place settings, including knife rests to prevent getting butter and other stuff on her tablecloths. She prefers antique varieties, but she said you can find them online.
The View: Rihanna Chris Brown Thanksgiving
Over the weekend, speculation on Twitter was that Rihanna and Chris Brown spent the holiday weekend together. Sherri Shepherd said she thinks they should go public if they are back together in a relationship, instead of being coy about the situation.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck said she was much more offended by some of the things Chris Brown had to say online this weekend. The controversy stems from the 2009 domestic abuse incident, and apparently there are many who still have not forgiven the R&B star.
The View: Chris Brown Twitter Deleted
Chris Brown got into a Twitter fight with Jenny Johnson, a comedy writer with the Twitter handle @JennyJohnsonHi5. Their too hot for TV exchanges escalated with foul language and Elisabeth got censored for trying to explain what he said.
Elisabeth said she thinks Twitter should ban abusive users who harass others. She agreed that Jenny should get kicked off Twitter as well. Whoopi reported that Chris Brown has now deleted his Twitter account. Watch the co-hosts weigh in.
The View: Chris Brown Jenny Johnson Twitter Feud
Sherri said her problem with Chris Brown is that he is setting a poor example for young people. On the other hand, she felt that Jenny was provoking Chris and shouldn’t have been surprised that he lashed out at her.
Joy Behar said that Jenny Johnson might have been savvy because she is getting a lot of attention in the aftermath. Whoopi called the exchange between them both assault, but Joy believes that free speech should prevail.
Sherri said that Jenny must have a lot of time on his hands. Elisabeth said that Chris’s comments were “vile [and] disgusting.” Whoopi suggested that people “say what you mean” on Twitter and think about the type of discourse they are having on Twitter. What do you think about this latest Twitter controversy?
The View: RIP Larry Hagman
The View co-hosts bid farewell to Dallas star Larry Hagman, who passed away November 23 2012 at the age of 81. Larry Hagman appeared on The View in June 2012, and the co-hosts remembered that he was a fun man and a great guest.
