We remember the piercing laugh and straight talk of her character on The Nanny. Now Fran Drescher is back on TV in a sitcom about her own life. The Talk co-hosts sat with her to talk about Happily Divorcedseason 2 and her new Trash Cancer campaign.
The Talk: Fran Drescher Low Histamine Diet
Fran Drescher jumped right into the conversation with the women from The Talk. What type of drunk is Fran? She said she is currently on a low histamine diet, so she isn’t drinking but has become the designated driver for her friends.
“I’m always the first one that wants to leave the party now,” she said. “The thing is, when you’re not drinking, after awhile it gets kind of boring.”
The Talk: Fran Drescher iPhone Siri Review
Fran also said she has an iPhone with Siri, but she thinks the technology is anti-Semetic. Fran asked Siri if she liked working for her, to which the phone replied: “I would rather not answer that question.”
According to Fran, she has trouble with most voice response products, probably because of her uniquely identifiable voice. “Even for New York, this is very unusual,” she said. She has tried playing with the settings and seeing if it helps the phone to think she has a male voice.
Now Fran has given up on Siri.
The Talk: Fran Drescher Love Life
After divorcing her husband, who later came out as gay, Fran Drescher is back on the dating scene. What turns Fran off in a man? Fake hair is near the top of her list. She prefers the bald look to a toupee. It takes a lot to pull off fake hair.
That is sort of a double standard, because lots of women have fake hair and they get away with them each day. Watch Fran’s comments.
The Talk: Fran Drescher Pomeranian
Like guest co-host Lisa Vanderpump, Fran Drescher has a Pomeranian puppy. Lisa wanted to know how Fran spoils her dog. She carries the dog everywhere, and her Pomeranian is at least twice Jiggy’s weight.
At the end of the segment, Fran brought her dog, Esther, to the table, and it looked sort of like Bo, The World’s Cutest Dog.
The Talk: Fran Drescher Botox
Fran also got to ring the bell at NASDAQ, even though she thinks the stock market is just a glorified casino. But she looks for investments that she can relate to, such as Botox, which she first read about in a magazine. She bought in at $17 and sold it at approximately $77. Quit while you’re ahead, Fran.
Fran Drescher: Happily Divorced TV Land
Sitcom legend Florence Henderson plays Fran’s new mother-in-law on the TV Land sitcom Happily Divorced, as seen in a clip where the two characters clash. What was it like being Mrs. Brady’s kid?
Fran said that Florence and Robert Wagner were delightful guest stars, and she has been enjoying working with guest stars in their 70s and 80s, proving that “when you do what you love, it keeps you young.”
In the series, their families clash because Fran’s clan is from Flushing, Queens, while her fiance’s family is from the Boston area.
The Talk: Happily Divorced Guest Stars
The parade of guest stars continues this season on Happily Divorced. Who’s next up? Fran said that you can look forward to Cyndi Lauper, Molly Shannon, Keenan Ivory Wayans and the return of Joan Collins throughout this season of the sitcom.
Happily Divorced: Love Is Love
The show can even help with your relationship. “I’m so proud that the show has a global message to it, which is love is love, and everybody has a right to live an authentic life,” Fran said.
An older lesbian couple said the show has changed the way one partner’s parents thinks about the relationship, and now they are closer than ever before. Fran said she is proud to be a spokesperson for GLAAD and wants to speak out for any marginalized minority.
Fran Drescher: Trash Cancer
Did you know that 90% of cancer could be caused by your environment, even at home? Fran’s latest program, Trash Cancer, helps consumers understand how the things around them could be increasing your risks of cancer. Humana is a partner on this program, “because the best cure for cancer is not to get sick in the first place.”
You can see Fran and her friends in Happily Divorced, Wednesday nights on TV Land.
