The Talk suggested ideas for jazzing up an Oscar party this weekend by giving guests a 2013 Oscar ballot, elegant food presentation, and a great playlist.
Kristan said that she encourages party guests to dress up to fit the theme or occasions. You could dress up with your most glamorous outfits, or have guests show up as their favorite movie characters from the past year. You can also provide props or accessories to dress up your guests.

For a red carpet party, Kristan recommended setting up a backdrop to take photos of your guests as they arrive. You can find a glittery gold lame curtain at a home improvement store to use as a background.

Kristan also recommended creating an Oscar playlist of your favorite nominated songs through the years, which you can use to keep the mood going through the night, especially during commercial breaks.

You can even find a fancy way to serve hot dogs (check out Michael Symon’s Pink’s Chili Dogs recipe). But Kristan recommended white beverages and mixers to avoid hard-to-clean stains from red wines, for example.
