The Talk Takeaway: Relationships
Iyanla Vanzant is a relationship expert who is out to change lives in her OWN reality series, Iyanla: Fix My Life. The Talk showed a clip of her intervention with rapper DMX in the season premiere.
The Talk: Iyanla Vanzant Relationships
Iyanla said it can be difficult for men to let themselves be vulnerable. In this case, she wanted to help DMX have a safe space to confront his emotions.

Iyanla Vanzant was on The Talk with some relationship advice to help you find love. She said you have to feel, deal, and heal to move forward and find love.
“They’ll scare you, rather than let you know they’re scared,” she said about men in general.
The Talk: Iyanla’s Feel, Deal, And Heal
Iyanla also had advice on how you can find the perfect partner for you.
Feel, deal, and heal. Don’t cut off your feelings; instead, process them so you can let go. “You’ve got to feel all of your feelings, because feelings buried alive do not die,” she said.
Therapy, meditation, or journaling are ways to deal with your feelings. Heal by changing your patterns and turning a new page in life.
The Talk: Iyanla Vanzant Vulnerability & Accessibility
How do you let people see the real you? Make yourself vulnerable and accessible, Iyanla advised. Don’t rely on false appearances that could set you up for disappointment.
Choose real dates or spend time together at home, where you can relax and let your guard down. “Let him see that, and then if he likes that now, then he feels gifted when you put the Spanx on and the push-up bra,” she said.
The Talk: Iyanla Vanzant Dating
Are you going about the search for love all wrong? Don’t be too busy, Iyanla suggested. “Don’t be so busy that your partner has to fight for your time,” she said. “Make time to date, to talk, to touch, to play.”
Iyanla: Fix My Life season 2 premieres April 13 2013 on OWN, where it airs Saturday nights.
