The Drs TV: Lost 150 Pounds Without Surgery
A woman named Jen explained that she never realized she had a weight problem until she saw a picture of herself standing next to a friend, and told the friend she had to burn the picture and never allow anyone to see it ever again. Then about six months later, she had only continued to gain weight, and found herself spiraling out of control. She went to lunch with her mom and aunt, who had an intervention with her. They shared their concern for her health and offered to help her in every way possible, including paying for weight loss surgery.

Since the gastric bypass surgery is not covered by insurance, Jen did research and found that at the cheapest, it would cost $15,000. She didn’t want to be in debt to them for saving her life, and wanted to do it herself. About two to three weeks after the intervention, she went to a Weight Watchers meeting and stepped on the scale to find out she was 311 pounds.
The Doctors: Woman Lost Half Her Body Weight
Jen eventually met her goal weight and was on The Doctors to show off her incredible transformation. She lost 150 pounds, which was half her body weight. Jen’s mom was in the audience and expressed how proud she was of her daughter. Dr. Travis Stork said Jen turned a vicious cycle into a virtuous cycle all on her own. Jen said losing the weight made her realize she can overcome anything.
Jen said her tip for everyone out there is just three letters: can. “If you think you can, you can and if you think you can’t, you can’t.” The Doctors then surprised Jen with a $2,000 gift card for a brand new wardrobe from Shape FX and Spiegel. The Doctors then welcomed Jen’s mom to come up and give her daughter a big hug.
