The Drs: Healthy Comfort Food
Dr Ian Smith joined The Doctors to share healthy comfort food recipes from his The Shred Diet Cookbook. Dr Smith also shared his recipes for chicken with caramelized pears and shallots and artichoke-basil dip.
Dr Smith explained that everyone thinks you can’t have pasta, but you can, as long as it’s whole wheat. He made whole wheat pasta with edamame pesto. He explained that edamame gives you fiber and protein, and the pesto gives you the creamy sauce without all the calories. Dr Ashton explained that edamame is a great source of phytoestrogens and is also packed with iron.
