The Doctors talked to a mother-daughter duo who struggle with their aging faces. Shelly is 64 years old and struggles with the bags under her eyes. Carrie is just 37 years old but says a lot of people will comment on how tired she looks, even when she has had 10 hours of sleep. She doesn’t think she looks older than her age, but thinks in our society today, no one really looks their age. “If you can’t beat them, join them,” Carrie said.
Carrie and Shelly went in to see Dr Whitney Bowe, a board certified dermatologist, about a cosmetic procedure that would make them look years younger. Dr Bowe said you don’t want people to be able to tell what you’ve gotten done, which was her goal. She enhanced their cheeks, eyebrows, and mouths, as well as some other spots on the faces, in order to make them both look a decade younger.
The Drs: Take Years Off Your Appearance
Later in the show, The Doctors revealed the results of the procedure. They welcomed Shelly and Carrie to their show to see if the procedure worked to drop a decade from their appearance. Dr Jennifer Ashton said they look more like sisters now, rather than mother and daughter. Dr Bowe explained that for Shelly, the results took about an hour to become evident, and with Carrie, just 15-20 minutes.
Dr Bowe explained that Shelly was most concerned about her under-eye area, and Dr Bowe started with a product called Juvederm Voluma. She placed the product on the bone, across the entire cheekbone, to give her face a natural lift. She then used another sugar gel called Restylane and injected it into the hollow part of her eye. For Carrie, she used a similar approach as well, and then touched up her forehead and upper lids to reshape her brows.
Carrie and Shelly were very happy with the results. Would you consider this procedure after seeing how well it worked for them?
