The Doctors: Breast Augmentation Dangers
Nearly 400,000 breast augmentations are performed each year and most of the people who receive the augmentation are satisfied. But one mother said she regrets ever having the augmentation done.

The Doctors talked with a women who had a breast augmentation that left her with a sore back and neck and bad posture.
Raquel opted to have the breast augmentation after having her child at age 21. After breast feeding and pregnancy took a toll on her body and breasts, she wanted to get back to her old self again. She was given two choices by her doctor – she could undergo a breast lift, which would leave scarring or she could have breast implants put in to fill out her chest.
Raquel decided to go with the implants but after the surgery was complete she was not happy. She said she began getting back and neck pains as well as a ruined posture. Her husband, Daniel, was also not happy. He said the larger breasts have made people start looking down when they talk to her instead of talking to her face. It was a decision they both regretted.
The Drs: Breast Lifts and Rice In Bras
Dr. Ordon said the first thing Raquel should have done was test out the size of her new breasts by placing rice in a bag and wearing it under her bra to see how the chest would look. He explained an ounce of rice is 30 cc’s of volume or about an extra cup and a half added to the bra size.
As for her options now, he said she was going to have to have the implants replaced with smaller implants and she was going to have to undergo a breast lift. He said there would be scarring but many people are more than happy with the results.
