The Drs: Pastor Andre Butler

The Doctors shared that modern medicine is capable of incredible things, but some things are just unexplainable, which is why you have to have a little faith. Pastor Andre Butler inspirational leadership has led to 20 books, multiple awards, and a church full of thousands. For him, staying strong in spirit starts at home. The Doctors welcomed Pastor Andre to the show to talk about how he combines faith and health.

Pastor Andre said God is into preventative medicine. He said the Bible also says a lot about how to stay healthy, including stress-free and clean living. He’s interested in helping people get out of sickness and not ever getting sick to begin with. Dr Jennifer Ashton said as a doctor, she has seen things happen in medicine that cannot be explained by medicine. Dr Travis Stork said people in the hospital who have faith tend to have better outcomes. Scientific studies have even shown that.

Pastor Andre explained that the Bible shows us that God wants us to be healthy because he has a lot for us to do and he wants us to enjoy our lives. If you look at Jesus’ ministry, he did just as much healing as he did teaching. Dr Ross wanted to know what Pastor Andre teaches his three girls about God and healing. Pastor Andre shared that his daughter was 6 and a door completely closed on her hand, causing her to scream. His wife happened to be in the building and came down to see her daughter, and realized that it looked like nothing had happened at all. He said it seemed to be a miracle.

The Doctors then shared the story of a Utah mother who crashed into a ravine and something told the rescuer to come and rescue a baby that was inside the car. The woman didn’t survive, but the young baby did. Pastor Andre said a member of his church actually shared that her husband had a heart condition and believed that God told her to take him to the hospital. They went and found out that he had the big heart issue, which they wouldn’t have discovered otherwise.

One man also shared with Pastor Andre that he was dealing with heart issues and during a service Pastor Andre has said, “I believe God is healing someone’s heart right now.” After he said those words, the man’s heart calmed down. He said it’s things like this that makes you truly realize God is real.
