Dr. Rachael Ross shared that 42% of college graduates will never read a book again after they graduate. They shared that Scribd is a Netflix-like e-book subscription service that lets you read as many books as you want for a minimum price of $8 a month. The Doctors: Find A Workout Partner
Dr. Travis Stork explained that exercising with a partner may help keep you motivated and give you the support you need to stick to your goals. When choosing a workout partner, team up with someone slightly stronger than you. Research suggests that working out with someone you perceive as moderately more capable, may make you work out twice as hard.
You can also try joining an exercise group or starting your own. Local boot camp workouts and charity runs can be a great way to connect with people that share similar exercise styles.
The Drs TV: Kesha Lawsuit
For The Doctors News in 2:00, The Doctors shared that earlier this year, pop star Kesha spent two months in rehab for an eating disorder. After she completed the program she said, “The music industry has set unrealistic expectations for what a body is supposed to look like, and I started becoming overly critical of my own body.”
Now, Kesha is in a legal tug-of-war with her manager Dr. Luke, claiming she was a victim of mental manipulation, emotional abuse, and an instance of assault at his hands. Dr. Luke fired back with a lawsuit for extortion, saying Kesha is trying to get out of a legally binding contract.
The Doctors: Zach Galifianakis Weight Loss
The Doctors also reported that actor Zach Galifianakis, already receiving Oscar buzz for his role in Birdman, appeared to be looking much slimmer at the movie’s New York premiere. He’s dropped approximately 50 pounds since his last public appearance almost a year ago. He hasn’t revealed what he did to shed those pounds, but he did tell Conan O’Brien he “was having a lot of vodka and sausage, bad for you, so I just kinda stopped.”
Birdman will open in theaters October 17 2014.
The Drs TV: Mark Zuckerberg Ebola Crisis Donation
Also, this week’s #SMOCK person of the week comes as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla, make one of the largest donations to the CDC to help fight Ebola. Zuckerberg posted a status update on his Facebook page saying “grants like this directly help the frontline responders in their heroic work.”
