The Drs TV: Quintuplets Conceived Through IUI
Meryl and John, parents of quintuplets, later joined The Doctors to discuss how they conceived their five bundles of joy. When Meryl experienced fertility issues, she visited a specialist and was able to conceive the couple’s first child, Gianna. Then, they tried IUI (intrauterine insemination) for a second pregnancy, which resulted in five babies. Dr. Rachael explained that this method very rarely produces multiples, so the quints are true miracles.
The Doctors: Infant Oral Hygiene Tips
The Doctors then sent the Ferraro Family to their first dentist visit ever. Here are some great infant oral hygiene tips from Dr. Yazdana Alami.
- To keep gums healthy, wipe gums with a wet washcloth after nursing.
- To help ease the pain of teething, brush frequently and use teethers.
- When the first tooth arrives, begin a hygiene program of brushing twice a day immediately. Don’t use any toothpaste until the age of three.
- Help children brush their teeth until their first molars appear, around the age of six.
