The Doctors: Mirror Twins
How is it that some twins look exactly alike, but others only slightly resemble each other? There are many types of twins, and Cristina and Michelle are what’s known as mirror twins. They spoke with The Doctors to find out why they are completely identical, yet complete opposites.

The Doctors discussed mirror twins, why some twins have physical differences, and spoke with the parents of sextuplets.
When it comes to Cristina and Michelle, everything that one has, the other has too, just on the opposite side. They even have the same moles on their left and right arms, respectively. Dr. Jim Sears explained that with mirror twins, a split occurs within a single fertilized egg, but it occurs much later in development. This happens in about 25% of twins.
Cristina and Michelle even have their bangs cut on the opposite side. Dr. Travis said that in some cases, mirror twins will have their organs on different sides of their bodies.
The Drs TV: Differences In Identical Twins
Eli and Sammy are two young twins who wanted to know why one has two swirls on his head (where the hair grows), but the other only has one. Dr. Sears explained that in the womb, differences in factors like environment, nutrition, position and blood flow may result in differences in development.
He helped the boys understand this concept by using swirl paint. The DNA may be the same, just like the colors may be the same, but the end result is always different.
The Doctors: Six Little McGhees
Mia and Rozonno McGhee are raising sextuplets, and it’s all documented on their OWN series Six Little McGhees. Olivia, Rozonno, Isaac, Madison, Elijah, and Josiah are six little handfuls, but their parents wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Drs TV: Runny Nose Remedies
The McGhees joined The Doctors via Polycom from their home in Columbus, Ohio, with a question on runny noses. Mia and Rozonno have noticed that whenever the seasons change, their kids’ noses run “like faucets.” What can they do to help?
Dr. Sears said that colds and allergies are more common in kids than adults, especially this time of year. As cold air enters the nasal passage, the nose tries to warm things up, causing it to run.
An easy remedy for this problem is nasal saline spray, which will help clear runny noses. Also try hepa filters in the bedrooms, and know what triggers the runny nose. The McGhee family were given Pharmaca and Bare Snacks products to help get them through the winter.
