The Doctors: 5-Year-Old Girl Calls 911 To Save Her Mother’s Life

The Doctors talked to an extremely brave 5-year-old girl named Jillian who knew to call 911 to save her mother Elisabeth, who has Type 1 Diabetes. When Elisabeth fell into a diabetic coma, Jillian called 911 because she didn’t know her dad’s phone number. The Doctors played the 911 phone call, which Dr. Travis said might have been the most adorable 911 phone call in the history 911 phone calls.
Jillian seemed really subdued and shy during the conversation with The Doctors, so Dr. Travis started talking to Elisabeth instead. Elisabeth said she could have potentially died if Jillian hadn’t called 911.
The Doctors: What Causes A Diabetic Coma?
If you have diabetes, if you’re taking medication or insulin, it’s hard to get your blood sugar levels at the right place. You might have too much in your system, which causes your blood sugar to drop. That’s what causes them to get dizzy and potentially pass out. If someone isn’t there to help you, you could be in big trouble.
The Doctors: Mommy Emergency Plan
Elisabeth began practicing what to do with Jillian about a year ago in case this happened to her, including calling 911 and opening the door for the policeman. That’s the training that Jillian used to save Elisabeth’s life.
Dr. Ashton said that it’s important to teach your kids how they can help you if they have a health condition and she said Elisabeth did an amazing job as a mom teaching her that.
The Doctors: Gift For Hero Kid
The Doctors gave Jillian a special Hometown Hero award, which she didn’t seem very happy about. She slapped her forehead when she saw it like it embarrassed her. Then Dr. Travis told her that she was going to see The Lion King on Broadway in New York City and she was going to get to go backstage and meet the entire cast.
