The Doctors: Bill Cosby Healthy Snack Suggestions for Santa

The Doctors: Milk and Cookies Calorie Content

Many people indulge around the holidays, but very few actually count the amount of extra calories they consume. But can you guess the man who eats more than anyone else this time of year? It’s Santa Claus. His exclusive diet of milk and cookies may be traditional, but isn’t waistline friendly.

Dr. Sears explained that a glass of milk contains about 150 calories, while 3-4 cookies can be about 300 calories. That makes a grand total of 450 calories. Remember, Santa eats milk and cookies all across the world. In America alone, that’s about 49 million calories! Or, as Dr. Ordon put it, “a lot of time on the treadmill.”

Bill Cosby: “I Didn’t Ask to Be Born But I’m Glad I Was”

Entertainment legend Bill Cosby had something to say on the topic of Santa’s diet, and he’s written all about it in his new book I Didn’t Ask to Be Born But I’m Glad I Was. Mr. Cosby spoke with The Doctors via phone about healthy alternatives for Santa Claus.

Mr. Cosby reported that he recently spoke with both Mrs. Claus’s helper and Rudolph, who both complained about Santa’s unhealthy weight. That’s why Mr. Cosby believes that Santa won’t mind if kids leave him something else to snack on this year.

Bill Cosby recommended foods such as hummus, cottage cheese, deviled eggs and drinks like two percent milk for Santa. Or, you can go European and leave Santa a glass of wine and piece of cheese. That’s similar to what Italian children leave for La Befana, their version of Santa Claus.

The Doctors were so glad to speak with such an icon as Bill Cosby. Dr. Lisa Masterson, in particular, was happy to chat with the man who she credits for making her a doctor. She explained that in college, she dabbled in modeling and acting, and auditioned for the role of Theo’s girlfriend on The Cosby Show. When she didn’t get the part, she decided to enroll in medical school instead.

About Loren DiBlasi

After my childhood dream of achieving Olympic figure skating gold fell through, I moved on to Plan B: become a writer. I've been writing since I can remember, and consider myself lucky to be making a career out of it. I graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2011, and since that time, I have worked as a writer, editor and blogger. Luckily for this site, my love of TV borders on obsession.
