The Drs TV: Survivor Created Binders For Cancer Patients
The Doctors shared that it’s especially better to give than to receive. Dr Jennifer Berman surprised a woman named Robin in her home to share that she had been nominated by someone special who wanted to do something special for her. She shared that in 2011 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and was overwhelmed by the diagnosis and all the paperwork coming in. Because she was disorganized, she created a binder that would help her feel more in control.
The binder is a medical record organizer with tabs that were created for every possible scenario a breast cancer patient could go through. One of Robin’s doctors was so fascinated by the idea that she asked her to do it for her patients. Dr Berman said it touched her because her mother passed away from breast cancer and her sister was diagnosed with breast cancer as well. She said the book symbolizes hope which is a big message for everyone.
Dr Berman surprised Robin by taking her to a spa, where Diane Hibbard, the skin care director, explained that for the facial, they would be focusing on UV damage. She also got an electric current massage to stimulate collagen and improve the appearance of her skin.
The Doctors: Surprise For Cancer Survivor
Robin then sat down with The Doctors, who pointed out that she is giving women a sense of control and a sense of hope, which is a true gift. Dr Berman said Robin is an angel to all of us. Robin shared that she wasn’t sure who nominated her, but The Doctors is her grandparents’ favorite show. Her grandma is 96 while her grandpa is 100, and they just celebrated their 77th year of marriage.
Dr Travis Stork then shared that although her grandparents are watching, it was Robin’s friend Liz who nominated her. Liz joined Robin on the show. Liz explained that Robin is the most giving, caring person she has ever met. She said Robin has given back so much to the community without ever expecting anything in return and she truly felt she deserved to be recognized.
The Doctors donated $1,000 to help with Robin’s binders. They then surprised everyone in the audience with gift cards to Burke Williams Spa to get their own facials at no charge.
