The Doctors: Toddler Smoking Marijuana
The Doctors got right to some hot headlines, first sharing a video that was shared on social media, only to be turned over to Chicago police. The video shows a young child, still in diapers, being taught how to smoke marijuana. Detectives believe they know who the adult in the video is and it could result in child endangering charges. Dr Rachael Ross explained that too many people think that smoking marijuana, even at a young age, is harmless, when it reality it impairs your ability to focus and impairs your ability to think straight, as well as cause psychological problems.
More education is definitely needed before marijuana is legalized across the country.

The Doctors moved on to talk about the steps emergency medicine is taking to keep up with gun violence in America. The FDA recently gave clearance on a life-saving military device that can stop bleeding from a gunshot wound. The XStat 30 Syringe is filled with nearly 100 sponges that rapidly expand in severe wounds in just 15 seconds. The small sponges can absorb up to a pint of blind and dramatically increase the chances of survival. It was originally developed for the military, but the FDA is now saying that it could work for civilian gunshot wounds. So many people die of gunshot wounds because of uncontrolled bleeding and people aren’t trained with what type of pressure to use and how to stop the bleeding to get someone to the hospital.
The Doctors: Surprise For Overworked Nurse
The Doctors then introduced a woman who has been married for 14 years and has two boys. She drives two hours to get her sons to their hockey practice and spends all day on her feet as a nurse, where she works with rehab and dementia patients. She recently found out that she had carpal tunnel syndrome and would drop things because of the sudden pain. By the time she gets home from work and has to make dinner, she’s exhausted. “I don’t know my life outside of hockey and work,” she said.
She would love to get her hair and nails done, but she hasn’t gotten her hair cut since 2012. She wants to feel and look like she used to, but she feels as if she simply doesn’t have the time to make it happen.
Candace joined the show, saying that she basically has to ignore her own pain in order to help patients and focus on them. Dr Bal Rajagopalan agreed to examine Candace and found that she definitely had carpal tunnel. Whenever he would tap on the nerve, she would have shooting pain down to her fingers. There’s a surgical fix that takes just five minutes, and he offered the surgery to Candance for free.
The Doctors also wanted to help Candace’s emotional health, so Michelle, who works in the control room, teared up telling Candace that because she does nothing for herself, she wanted Candace to have an entire day for her. They surprised Candace with a spa day, pampering, and a makeover.
The Doctors: Makeover For Hard Working Nurse & Mom
Later in the show, The Doctors welcomed Candace back to the stage to reveal her incredible makeover. She showed of a brand new hair cut and fresh, smiling face. She said she definitely wasn’t used to being pampered but definitely felt great. Neil Weisberg explained that he cut off about eight inches of Candace’s hair, and Mai Quynh used everyday neutral makeup to highlight her natural features. They also surprised Candace with a $3,000 wardrobe from Spiegel, and Michelle was brought to tears seeing how great Candace looked. Dr Travis then personally sent Candace and Michelle out for a fun dinner together.
